Joy in bereavement support group
Welcome to Joy in Bereavement in the Antelope Valley & Santa Clarita Valley. We are so sorry you have found your way here. You are not alone. Joy in Bereavement was created to form a community of support for bereaved parents in the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley, and raise Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness. This group offers parent to parent support at any stage of grief, moderated by three certified Birth & Bereavement Doulas.
This group was created to offer support to one another through the difficult journey of pregnancy and infant loss. We recognize the limited support resources available in our local area, and strive to offer a safe and validating space for parents to connect. The grief and healing journey is part of your own unique experience and we ask that all group members are respectful of where each person is in their own journey. This space is safe, supportive, validating, and compassionate. There is no pressure to share- you do not need to take part in the dialogue of this group; it is more than OK for you to just be in the presence of other bereaved parents.
Your group facilitators are Rosalyn Skelton, Patty Grider, and Debra Osterkamp. As Certified Birth & Bereavement Doulas, we are here to support you. We are available to provide everything from labor support as your birth your baby, to information connecting you with resources for support. We can help you find ways to say farewell to your baby, and think of creative ideas for honoring and remembering your baby, no matter how much time has passed. Please feel free to reach out to us for any specific support you may need. You may use this form to communicate with a support group facilitator and provide feedback, ask questions, or share concerns.

Joy In Bereavement Support Group Meetings
Antelope Valley support meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8pm at the Trend Wellness Home (43057 39th Street West, Lancaster, CA 93536).
Santa Clarita support meetings are held on a rotating schedule. Subscribe to the events of our Facebook page, or contact us to learn more about our meeting schedule.
Upcoming Santa Clarita Meeting: Friday, November 22nd from 6:30-8:00pm at 28103 Windy Way, Castaic, CA 91384.
We honor all types of pregnancy and infant loss and hold space for families at all steps of their grief journey. For some families, this journey extends to trying to conceive again, and subsequent pregnancies following loss (rainbow pregnancy). We recognize the continued need for support during these times and welcome families wherever they are in their journey. We also recognize that it can be painful at times to be in a space with pregnant women when your heart is so full of ache and longing. Our goal is to create a safe space for all. If you desire to attend a support meeting and feel it on your heart that being in the presence of a rainbow pregnancy is too painful for you, please use this form to communicate with a facilitator so that we can be responsive to your needs.
